Changing the URL of a SharePoint web application is quite simple, and just involves removing and re-extending the application from IIS web application after changing the Binding of the IIS Web Application. But the same methodology cannot be applied to Central Administration. Lets see how to change the URL of the central administration to differ from the server FQDN. In order to change the URL of the Central Administration follow the steps below. Create an entry of the new Central Administration URL in the Domain Name Server.
